The Shop for Public Schools website was created to inform the public and merchant partners about the week long initiative in support of NYC public school library improvements. It is part of the larger Shop week branding campaign and builds on it's color, typography and visual equities in establishing continuity. Some of the primary features include:
- A news blog highlighting stand-out events and promotions throughout the city.
- A robust list of participating merchant, and their profiles
- Interactive Google Maps with the locations of all participating merchants in the boroughs
- An event calendar
- A merchant area complete with a sign-up form
- Media highlights and articles from previous years
From a technical standpoint the site was produced with Drupal, the powerful open source CMS. It's dynamic nature eases maintenance year over year while fostering robust content relationships, taxonomies, user comments, and spam controls.
